| Pandit Manohar Chimote | |||||||
| Born on 27 Th. March 1929 at Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, in a family of musical learnings. Pandit Chimote had an earlier tutelage under the renowned maestro Pandit Bhishmadev Vedi, one of the most versatile artists of Hindustani Classical music, who tutored him in the art of playing harmonium. IT was not a long period of time that Pandit Chimote as student spent with Pandit Vediji. Mere association of 3-4 months and with the capital of just an "Antara" (fist half part of a Indian Classical composition), of a "Gaat"(music word for the composition), Pandit Chimote generated the world of Samvadini which includes the structural modification in the instrument, the playing style, and blending of playing styles of other instruments with vocal capabilities Panditji He brought Harmonium to the level of solo concert instrument and changed the traditional harmonium into Samvadini (his innovation-and he renamed it!) from being a mere secondary accompanying one, speaks volumes of his musical perspicacity. Rhythmic intellect and adaptive acumen what has been achieved are nothing short of miracle.
Pandit Manohar Chimote had been the lonely star in the field of Samvadini solo performance and has received many appreciations and awards like Pandit Manohar Chimote has performed in almost all of the music festivals all over the country including Pandit Chimote has also performed Jugalbandis with many other eminent artists like In all this Jugalbandis, audience has applouded the capabilities of Samvadini in comparison with other solo instruments. |
